Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got started in the world of bathroom design?
A: Of course! I moved to Salisbury in 2017 to be with my partner and future husband. Before that, I had a fulfilling career as a nurse in Bath and Swindon. I absolutely loved taking care of people and making a difference in their lives. However, after nine years, I started feeling like something was missing. I wanted a new challenge, something that would push me to grow both personally and professionally. That's when I stumbled upon a vacancy for a showroom advisor at Aquatec. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to help people in a different way and learn something entirely new.

What were some of the challenges you faced when you first started working in bathroom design?
A: Oh, there were quite a few challenges in the beginning, but I was determined to overcome them. One of the main hurdles was getting up to speed with all the technical knowledge and understanding of different products. I studied brochures, had conversations with tradespeople, and leaned on my colleagues in the trade centre for guidance. It was a lot to absorb, but over time, I flourished. My confidence grew, and I started taking on more challenging projects. I can honestly say that I've enjoyed every second of this journey.
Q: How does your previous experience in nursing help your current work in bathroom design?
A: As a nurse, I had the privilege of caring for people on a personal level, and it opened my eyes to the diverse needs and requirements individuals have. One area where my nursing background truly shines is in universal bathroom design. I've learned how to create spaces that are accessible and functional for people of all ages and abilities.
I understand the importance of safety, independence, and comfort, especially for those with mobility challenges or older adults who may need extra support. Not only will their bathrooms be visually stunning, but they will also promote accessibility and inclusivity for everyone who uses them. It's truly fulfilling to combine my nursing background with my passion for bathroom design and create spaces that make a positive difference in people's lives.
Q: What personal connection do you have to the local area that Aquatec serves?
A: I have a strong personal connection to the local area we serve. When I moved to Salisbury in 2017, I instantly fell in love with the sense of community here. It became my home, and I wanted to contribute to the place that welcomed me with open arms. Being part of Aquatec allows me to provide exceptional service to the community I now call home. Q: What do you enjoy most about working in bathroom design?
A: What I love most about working in bathroom design is the opportunity to be creative and have fun with our customers. Designing a bathroom is like creating a unique masterpiece that reflects the client's style and needs. It's incredibly rewarding to see their vision come to life and know that I played a part in making it happen. Plus, I get to connect with new people every day, and that's something I find truly fulfilling.
