Rewarding Talent - Vicky's Journey into the World of Bathroom Design

Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got started in the world of bathroom design?

A: When I joined a large national bathroom company as a part-time general advisor, I never imagined that my career would take such an exciting turn. At the time, my daughter was just a young child, and I was looking for a flexible job that would allow me to balance work and family life. Little did I know that all my hard work was to be recognized so quickly.

Q: What were some of the challenges you faced when you first started working in bathroom design?

A: After only six months of being with the company, my work caught the attention of the showroom manager. She said she was impressed by my dedication and keen eye for design, and offered me a full-time role as a showroom designer. It was an opportunity that I couldn't resist. Not only did I welcome the chance to take on a new challenge, but I also saw it as an avenue to express my creativity in my work. As I settled into my new role, I discovered a true passion for helping people achieve fabulous results in their bathrooms and kitchens. I have thrived on the satisfaction of seeing my clients' visions come to life, and I take pride in being able to create beautiful spaces that seem to exceed clients expectations.

Q: What do you enjoy most about working in bathroom design?

A: In 2014, I decided to further enhance my skills and enrolled in an interior design course. The course provided me with invaluable insight into the effective use of color and lighting in my designs. Armed with this knowledge, I was able to create even more captivating and visually appealing spaces for my clients. One of the things I love most about my job is the opportunity to meet new people. Over the years, I have built strong relationships with my clients and have even made some great friends along the way. Connecting with people and understanding their needs is a crucial part of my process, and I love the satisfaction of helping them transform their homes.

Q: So why join Aquatec?

A: In 2021, I decided it was time to take my career to the next level so I joined Aquatec Bathrooms, a leading company in the industry, to expand my knowledge of bathroom products on a larger scale. I saw this as an opportunity to learn more about the plumbing side of things and to work alongside experienced colleagues in the Aquatec Plumbing Trade Center and their regular installers. A decision I have not once regretted!

Q: How do you go above and beyond to support your clients throughout the process of creating their new bathroom?

A: Throughout my 13 years of experience in bathroom design, I have worked on over 1000 projects. My attention to detail and dedication to getting things right the first time are qualities that make me proud. I try to go above and beyond to ensure that each client is thrilled with the end result. When it comes to my design process, I believe in the importance of visiting clients in their own homes. This allows me to accurately measure the space and understand the unique characteristics of each project. Back at the office, I utilise the CAD software to bring the designs to life, providing clients with a visual representation of their dream spaces. I continuously push boundaries and strive for excellence in all that I do. With every project I undertake, my commitment lies in helping people achieve amazing results and crafting spaces that inspire, delight and impress.

Q: What matters to you outside of Aquatec?

A: Outside of work, I enjoy indulging in my hobbies. I am an avid reader and find solace in the pages of a good book. Gardening is another passion of mine, and I take pride in nurturing my plants and creating a beautiful outdoor oasis. Above all, spending quality time with my family is a priority for me. We have a weekly tradition of game nights, which brings us closer together and helps creates lasting memories.
